Falling For You!

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to write some short stories. I always get random ideas for stories, but never actually put it together. So, I decided to write a little something for today. I wanted to do something special. I’m not in love or anything, I’m just a hopeless romantic. This is a sort of short story that I had in mind about falling in love. Enjoy!

Love Notes

My day gets better every time I look at your smile.

Julie came in to work Monday morning like any other day. She walked in the office and greeted her co-workers along the way. She walked up to her desk and noticed the small note on her computer. She picked it up and read it. It immediately brought a smile to her face. She looked around at her co-workers and noticed nothing different. She placed the note on the side and went on with her day.

I think about you every time I hear your favorite song.

Tuesday morning, Julie found another note. Valentine’s Day was just around the corner. A day that she dreaded because everything was suddenly about love, hearts and romance.  Even though Julie was single, she tried not to think too much on the notes and her new secret admirer.

When I talk to you, it’s like you’re the only person in the room.

Wednesday morning, she found another note on her computer. The notes were all different. She thought it was really sweet, but she wished she knew who was writing the notes. Soon she started asking other co-workers about the notes, but no one seemed to know anything about it. She tried guessing who it might be. After a while she just let it go and went on with her day as normal.

Your kindness for others is the reason I want to be a better person.

Thursday morning, Julie found a new note. She had an idea of who was the one writing the notes, Dave. Dave used to work on this floor with Julie until he got promoted. Julie was convinced that it was Dave. Julie and Dave were really close friends, best friends even. She always had a crush on him, but never thought he might feel the same for her.

You’re the reason I wake up in the morning.

On Friday morning, Julie found a new note on her computer. Julie took the note and put it in the envelope that had the other notes. She couldn’t stop smiling. Valentine’s Day is in two days.  She was off on the weekends, so she’s hoping to meet her secret admirer today.

The day went by as normal and soon it was time to go home. Nothing special happened. No secret admirer came to confess his love for her. She felt really disappointed.

On Valentine’s Day, Julie was upset the whole day. She knew she shouldn’t have gotten her hopes up over some notes.

That night, Julie looked at the envelope with the notes. She read all of the notes again. She got up from the couch and was about to go throw the notes in the trash when she heard a knock on the door. She set the notes down on the couch and went to answer the door.

When she opened the door, Dave was standing there holding a piece of paper in front of him. “Dave, what are you doing here?” He looked at her with a nervous smile and showed her the piece of paper that had three simple words.

I  Love You!

I hope you enjoyed the little story. I’ll try to write more in the future. Until Next Time!
